October 2010

NL @ World Expo 2010

Communication and media of the participation of the Netherlands in the Shanghai World Expo 2010: “One country three pavilions”.

The Netherlands participated with three pavilions: country pavilion Happy Street, designed by architect John Körmeling, purposed to stimulate and increase the knowledge about the Netherlands among the Chinese audience; the Dutch Culture Centre, initiated by the Netherlands China Arts Foundation to bring Dutch culture to the attention of the Expo visitors and stimulate the cultural exchange between the Netherlands and China; and the Rotterdam Water pavilion, about best practices in water management. Rotterdam was invited by the city of Shanghai, because of it’s expertise in the field and the close sister relations between the two cities.
